When I arrived, he was sitting alone on the carpet while most of the other children were seated at tables having tea. He appeared upset and began to cry when I picked him up. He told me he was hungry and that he had not been given food, despite asking.\n\nLater that evening, he repeated the same account and became upset again. I asked him what he had eaten between 9:00am and 15:35, and he told me that he had eaten only one banana during the day. He also said he asked for more food because he was still hungry but was not given any.\n\nI reviewed the meal records shown in the Bright Horizons app, and these did not appear to align with what my son reported or what I observed. This raised concerns for me regarding record accuracy and communication.\n\nI raised these concerns with the nursery and head office. An investigation was carried out; however, the outcome did not reflect what I personally witnessed or fully address my concerns. The nursery concluded that staff accounts were being relied upon.\n\nAs a result, we decided to withdraw our son from the setting, as we no longer felt confident in the care being provided. Following the incident, he was noticeably unsettled and reluctant to return to nursery, which was unusual for him.\n\nThis experience was not related to fees or session times, as I would have been willing to pay for additional time or food if required.
