I rang at the end of June to check everything was okay and to ask about settling in sessions and I was told it was all fine, they had my daughter down to start at the beginning of September and they’d be in touch in August to arrange settling in sessions. One month later, and just ONE MONTH before I was due to go back to work, I was contacted (not even by the centre director) to tell me that the baby room had been shut since APRIL and they weren’t sure if they’d be open in September. I was told that I would receive an update about this by 14th August. No surprises here - I GOT NO UPDATE! I chased it up today (15th August), was told that I could have my retainer back but they couldn’t guarantee that I would get it back before OCTOBER. (Still couldn’t speak to the centre director). Aside from the fact that I have been let down by this nursery at the last minute causing me tremendous stress, the communication has been dreadful since day one. I wonder if the communication continues to be this dreadful when (if) your baby actually starts at this nursery, are you able to actually get hold of anyone if there are any issues? Despite the significant stress, having to change my complete working rota and plan for the entire remainder of the tax year, I think it is a total blessing in disguise that this nursery isn’t able to accommodate me as they have absolutely no transparency and don’t seem to care about the lives they turn upside down. I should have been told about the room shutting WHEN IT SHUT, not one month before my daughter was due to start.
