After various meetings with the head we were advised our child would benefit from a smaller group sized nursery. It was also suggested our child potentially had underlying issue of a minor nature. However after further specialist checks via professional in the field whom are able to make that call, we were advised no such claims were warranted nor substantiated. We have since had to change nursery, as weren't given much other option. One can appreciate this was a very stressful time. We now know of other parents whom we have spoken to have recieved the same treatment. We are now glad to say our child is thriving with much positive feedback. Our opinion is with Davenport, due to the full capacity classrooms if your 2yr old child does not conform to the norm that they expect, hence requiring a little more attention at times then others they will be ousted. So its felt the focus is to maintain maximum bums on seats for maximum returns. We appointed support from a private speech and language consultant and they refused to engage with the recommended strategies and when the consultant told them my daughters behaviour was their fault they turned on the consultant. They also lied to NHS Speech and Language Therapy telling them they had told us they thought our daughter was autistic but they did not, in fact we had raised the issue with them and they said they weren't allowed to comment. They make out that education is a joint effort between parents and teachers, which we believe in, but we had little engagement with them on key issues.
