As a not-for-profit charity, the nursery is driven by a passion for providing exceptional care and fostering a sense of wonder and awe in young learners. The curriculum is built around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), encouraging children to explore the world through play and adventure. The nursery provides a small setting for two to three-year-olds where staff can get to know each child individually, while the pre-school supports three to four-year-olds in a purpose-built unit next to Deddington Primary School, gradually preparing them for more structured learning. Both settings emphasise outdoor exploration with large spaces, including woods and play equipment. The dedicated team focuses on developing communication, personal and social skills, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts. Each child is assigned a key person to ensure their individual needs are met and to build a strong relationship with both the child and their parents. Our ethos At Deddington Nursery and PFSU children’s natural curiosity about our world is used to build wonder and awe; Projects and topics are designed to enhance children’s imagination through play and adventure. Children are given opportunity to actively learn and explore using their own creativity and enjoyment of their achievements. We are a not-for-profit charity whose primary aim is to provide exceptional care for children from their second birthday until they go to school. Our settings are run by a team of highly experienced professionals who are passionate about what they do. Our parent committee oversees the running of the organisation and supports our fundraising activities. We focus on the seven areas of learning and development in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
