Open 50 weeks a year, from 8 am to 6 pm, the pre-school is divided into two main playrooms: one for toddlers up to two and a half years old and another for older children aged two and a half to five. The nursery emphasises learning through exploration, discovery, and play, with a strong focus on outdoor activities, including a dedicated garden area, Forest School sessions for children aged three and over, and trips to a neighbouring farm. They aim to foster independence and self-esteem, ensuring each child reaches their full potential. The curriculum focuses on personal, social, and emotional development, communication and language, and physical development, expanding into literacy, maths, understanding the world, and creativity as children progress to the pre-school room. Each child is assigned a key person to ensure continuity of care and a strong link between home and nursery. Dragonflies Nursery also integrates a variety of additional activities such as PE and yoga sessions, monthly mobile farm visits, and sports skills sessions into its offerings. Various government funding options and childcare schemes are accepted to support parents with childcare costs. Our ethos Dragonflies Nursery's approach is centred on learning through exploration, discovery, and play, with a significant emphasis on outdoor activities and Forest School sessions.
