The nursery offers a comprehensive approach to learning, utilising the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to tailor plans to individual needs. Each child is assigned a Key Person who serves as the primary point of contact, building trusting relationships with both the child and their family. The nursery implements an online learning diary system to document each child's journey, which parents can access and contribute to at any time. Freshly prepared, nutritious meals are offered on-site by a dedicated chef. Hillside Day Nursery is equipped with distinct areas for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, along with outdoor gardens and dedicated 'forest' play areas for unique outdoor learning experiences and weekly Forest School sessions. The nursery is also committed to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), with a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) on staff and trained professionals who use Makaton across the nursery. They work closely with parents and other professionals to create individual support plans and ensure a consistent approach to care and education. The nursery boasts two sites, both within walking distance of each other in Kingswood, Bristol. Our ethos Hillside Day Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and offers unique outdoor learning experiences through dedicated 'forest' play areas and weekly Forest School sessions.
