The day nursery is open from 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, all year round, and accepts government funding for eligible children. In August 2023, Ofsted inspected the setting and judged its overall effectiveness to be Good. The inspector reported that staff are kind and caring, forming positive relationships with children in a friendly environment where they settle well. A well-thought-out curriculum is in place, and children were seen to make good use of resources. The report noted that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported well and that parent partnership is strong. Parents told the inspector they appreciate the care their children receive and feel they can raise any concerns with the management team. Our ethos Little Explorers Nursery's pedagogical approach is child-led learning through play, with activities tailored to individual interests. They are committed to fostering independence and preparing children for school, with additional activities like Forest School and a focus on inclusivity. What it's like Staff warmly greet children in a friendly environment, helping them to settle well and feel safe and secure. The staff create a calm environment for the youngest children, engaging them with activities like blowing bubbles. They do baby ballet/sports/cooking and outings to the park/shop/library. My daughter has made friends, learnt lots and flourished since being there. The setting is small, clean and welcoming and all food is prepared on site with lots of yummy healthy options for breakfast, dinner, tea and snacks. They offer the 30 hours free funded sessions, so it is worth giving them a call. Well done to all the staff and keep being amazing.
