The playschool moved to a new, purpose-built location in Dennington in August 2023. They are open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, for 48 weeks of the year. The staff are experienced in working with children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Little Oaks Playschool prides itself on providing high-quality care and education, fostering a warm and trusting environment, and supporting families by offering flexible care arrangements. The playschool has strong connections with local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition for children. They provide healthy snacks and offer optional breakfast and lunch, catering to various dietary needs. Their ethos revolves around giving every child a great start in life, achieved by being inclusive, providing flexible care to maximise funding, and offering early help when necessary. The playschool actively encourages continuous professional development for its staff and participates in research to advance early years practices. They have received several awards, including the Health and Wellbeing Award - Winner 2025 and were highly commended for the Eco-friendly Award in 2025. All children benefit from language screening tools to identify early language difficulties, ensuring staff swiftly identify children who need additional support. Staff work alongside other professionals and parents to ensure children make the best possible progress in their learning. Outdoor space Babies delight in playing peekaboo with staff using voile scarves, while older children test their physical abilities by climbing up and down a hill. When some children find this challenging, staff provide the encouragement needed for them to try again.
