Moorlands is divided into four rooms, each designed to cater to different developmental stages: Butterflies (under 2s), Ladybirds (2-3 years), Bumblebees (3-5 years), and The Hive (3-5 years), with movement between rooms based on developmental progress rather than age. Unique to the nursery is a sensory room, accessible to all children, offering a variety of resources to engage and stimulate their senses through lights, smells, textures, and sounds. The nursery strongly emphasises healthy eating, providing freshly prepared, home-cooked, nutritious meals and snacks, with menus rotating every four weeks to ensure variety. They use local produce, exclude salt from cooking, and accommodate all dietary requirements. Meal times are treated as social occasions, encouraging communication and independence as children participate in setting up, serving food, and pouring drinks.
