As a registered charity, it operates on a not-for-profit basis. The pre-school has two distinct playrooms: the Caterpillar Room, typically for two to three-year-olds, and the Butterfly Room for children aged three to four. Both rooms offer stimulating environments where children can learn through play, develop independence, and build relationships with peers and staff. The curriculum aims to foster essential skills and knowledge through a balance of adult-led and child-led activities, both indoors and outdoors, including a garden and forest school area. Nanstallon Pre-School prides itself on high staff-to-child ratios, with at least four qualified staff members per session, and a fully trained Paediatric First Aider always on duty. Children are admitted typically three times a year, in September, January, and after Easter, based on age-eligibility and the child's readiness. The pre-school also actively involves parents through a voluntary committee and fundraising efforts to continually enhance facilities and resources. They received a 'Good' outcome in their latest Ofsted inspection in January 2023.
