This family-run nursery, set within a magical woodland, focuses on an engaging and creative curriculum that inspires independence and fosters natural curiosity. They encourage children to embrace challenges and take managed risks, with staff skillfully supporting each child's unique learning journey. The nursery has a strong outdoor ethos, with much of the learning taking place in their well-equipped woodland garden and through forest school activities. This allows children to explore the natural world and utilise open-ended resources to discover and imagine. The inclusive setting prides itself on a small, well-trained team that flexibly delivers the curriculum to meet individual needs, promoting a sense of awe and wonder in the world around them. Our ethos Our aim at Peter Pan Nursery is to provide learning through play in a caring and stimulating environment. We aim to provide equal opportunities for all, adults and children alike, not discriminating against gender, race or ability; to allow each individual to develop at their own pace with kindness, encouragement and praise. At Peter Pan we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum alongside our own specialised curriculum providing core experiences and opportunities for all children as well as enhanced and extra excitements. Children are encouraged to become independent both in self-care and their choice of activities and staff are skilled at assessing where the children are in their learning and development and supporting their next steps on their learning journey. They have also not ensured that all staff receive induction training to help them understand their roles and responsibilities, particularly regarding safeguarding concerns, meaning children's welfare is not assured. Children are not receiving consistently good levels of teaching and support, as the curriculum is not ambitious or challenging. Despite these weaknesses, staff are warm and welcoming, helping children to feel secure and build positive relationships. Children settle well, are confident in their play, ask for support, and behave well. They have not provided the relevant information in order that Ofsted can carry out checks to ensure the suitability of committee members. In addition, the provider has not carried out the relevant employment checks on current staff to ensure their ongoing suitability. Therefore, the safety and welfare of children are not assured. - 2 The provider has not ensured that staff are provided with a full induction and ongoing training. This includes ensuring staff have a secure understanding of how to report safeguarding concerns to the relevant agencies.
