"reviewBody": "I will give 10 stars if I could!\n\nPurple Willows nursery staff have always gone above and beyond for our child who has been attending the nursery for quite some time now. They made his transition into nursery, as well as his progression into his current room, quite seamless.\n\nThey also understand that some parents might be anxious about leaving their child at nursery (that definitely was us !) and right from the manager to the staff members, they are very sensitive towards your feelings.\n\nThe communication between the nursery and parents is exceptional as our questions and queries are always answered swiftly and sensitively either personally or via email.\n\nThe environment is one of the main reasons we were attracted to this nursery in the first place. It is spacious, always very clean and has very impressive resources inside and outside.\n\nWe are always kept in the loop with health risks, upcoming events and progress our child has made through the Iconnect app or via email. We as parents can also communicate via this app too. All staff members, including kitchen staff, are extremely friendly and provide a welcoming environment for both children and parents - a big difference from our previous experience at another nursery!\n\nWe can also see the manager is supportive of staff and has a good relationship with them. She is prompt in helping us with any issues we might have with our invoices or last minute booking of sessions on days our son is contracted to attend.\n\nWhen we were stuck miles away from the nursery and couldn’t make collection on time, the manager and staff waited patiently until we arrived and were more concerned about us panicking for being late! They even waved the considerable late fees as a gesture of goodwill which my partner and I thought was very thoughtful and considerate.\n\nOur child’s key worker always updates us with moments, observations and activities which gives us ideas on how to best adapt learning at home for our child and we also get periodic assessments.\n\nWe cannot express enough how much our child loves attending the nursery each and every day. He always mentions how much fun he has with both staff members and peers.\n\nThank you so much for everything you do and continue to do.",

"reviewBody": "From what I’ve seen and experienced, staff at this setting are often stretched very thin. There never seems to be enough adults to give the children the attention and interaction they deserve. This is consistent with what several parents have already mentioned — the team clearly care, but they’re under pressure and constantly trying to keep up.\nThe environment feels chaotic at times and staff morale seems low, which affects the overall atmosphere. There are some lovely practitioners who genuinely do their best, but it’s clear the nursery is understaffed and poorly managed. Hopefully the organisation starts prioritising staff support and realistic ratios, because the children and workers both deserve better.",

"reviewBody": "⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review\n\nOur daughter, N, started at Purple Willows in September, when she was just 10 months old, and we couldn’t be happier with the care and attention she’s received. From the very beginning, the staff have been so welcoming, patient, and genuinely caring — it’s clear they truly love what they do.\n\nEveryone who works in the baby room deserves a special mention. They’ve taken the time to get to know N’s personality, her routines, and what makes her smile. The daily updates and photos are so reassuring, and it’s wonderful to see how settled and happy she is. Within just a week or two of starting, she was perfectly happy at morning drop-offs (Thank you Tilly 😁) — that says so much about how comfortable and loved she feels there. It really feels like everyone at Purple Willows knows her personally — even staff who don’t care for her directly always greet her with such warmth and enthusiasm, which says so much about the kind of environment they’ve created.\n\nSince joining, we’ve noticed such lovely changes in N — she’s become more social, more confident, and is starting to try out new words. She’s interacting so much more with other children and adults, which is amazing to see at her age. It’s clear she feels secure, supported, and encouraged to explore the world around her.\n\nShe also absolutely loves the food and mealtimes! The variety in the menu has really impressed us — it’s healthy, balanced, and full of flavour. It’s even made mealtimes at home easier, as she’s now much more willing to try new foods and eat a wider variety of meals.\n\nThe nursery itself has fantastic facilities, including a wonderful sensory room and a range of age-appropriate activities that keep the children engaged and learning through play. Every day offers something new for them to discover, and it’s great knowing she’s in an environment that nurtures her development in such a fun and thoughtful way.\n\nA special thank-you also goes to Sola, the manager, who has been so helpful from day one. She took the time to understand our situation and kindly arranged a discount to help with the cost of early drop-offs, which we have no choice but to do daily. That level of understanding and flexibility really shows how much Purple Willows cares about its families.\n\nAs a parent, leaving your baby for the first time is never easy, but Purple Willows has made that transition feel completely natural. The environment is warm, nurturing, and full of opportunities for the children to grow.\n\nWe’re so grateful for everything the team does — thank you for giving N such a positive, happy start to her nursery journey!",

"reviewBody": "My son has attended this nursery for about two years now. I am glad we choose this nursery despite the fact that the fees are a bit on the high side.\n\nThe staff are friendly and are always willing to offer advice on how to support my son further at home. We also get regular updates on his day. You can tell the manager supports her staff and is experienced. I think she worked in a school before.\n\nWithin a year of his attendance, my son’s speech has improved significantly and his interaction with the other children has improved considerably too. I don’t look forward to collecting him in the evenings sometimes because, most of the time he never wants to go home! It is like a second home to him.\n\nThey offer many activities and extra curricular too which my son enjoys. The playground is well equipped. The meals are cooked at the nursery and they have varieties and put into consideration the children’s diet needs and the allergies they have.\n\nI would highly recommend this nursery to parents even though it is not the cheapest in the area. We will miss Purple Willow as my son is leaving soon to start Primary school in September.",

## What parents say

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection

> their children love attending and make good progress.

> Parents say their children love attending and make good progress.

> They appreciate that staff keep them well informed about their children's time at nursery.

Inclusion & environment

## How they support every child

SEND provision

Children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, receive well-tailored individual support. For example, 'bucket time' sessions help children to listen, learn new words and begin to focus for extended periods. The manager uses additional funding to buy resources that support children's interests and further their development. Staff also work closely with outside professionals to utilise their expertise and enable all children to achieve their full potential.

Outdoor space

Staff ensure that children play outdoors in the large garden each day. They encourage children to be active through activities such as a 'bear hunt', where children learn to move their bodies in different ways. However, staff do not always consider the needs of children who do not wish to join in with the planned outdoor activities.

I will give 10 stars if I could! Purple Willows nursery staff have always gone above and beyond for our child who has been attending the nursery for quite some time now. They made his transition into nursery, as well as his progression into his current room, quite seamless. They also understand that some parents might be anxious about leaving their child at nursery (that definitely was us !) and right from the manager to the staff members, they are very sensitive towards your feelings. The communication between the nursery and parents is exceptional as our questions and queries are always answered swiftly and sensitively either personally or via email. The environment is one of the main reasons we were attracted to this nursery in the first place. It is spacious, always very clean and has very impressive resources inside and outside. We are always kept in the loop with health risks, upcoming events and progress our child has made through the Iconnect app or via email. We as parents can also communicate via this app too. All staff members, including kitchen staff, are extremely friendly and provide a welcoming environment for both children and parents - a big difference from our previous experience at another nursery! We can also see the manager is supportive of staff and has a good relationship with them. She is prompt in helping us with any issues we might have with our invoices or last minute booking of sessions on days our son is contracted to attend. When we were stuck miles away from the nursery and couldn’t make collection on time, the manager and staff waited patiently until we arrived and were more concerned about us panicking for being late! They even waved the considerable late fees as a gesture of goodwill which my partner and I thought was very thoughtful and considerate. Our child’s key worker always updates us with moments, observations and activities which gives us ideas on how to best adapt learning at home for our child and we also get periodic assessments. We cannot express enough how much our child loves attending the nursery each and every day. He always mentions how much fun he has with both staff members and peers. Thank you so much for everything you do and continue to do.

From what I’ve seen and experienced, staff at this setting are often stretched very thin. There never seems to be enough adults to give the children the attention and interaction they deserve. This is consistent with what several parents have already mentioned — the team clearly care, but they’re under pressure and constantly trying to keep up. The environment feels chaotic at times and staff morale seems low, which affects the overall atmosphere. There are some lovely practitioners who genuinely do their best, but it’s clear the nursery is understaffed and poorly managed. Hopefully the organisation starts prioritising staff support and realistic ratios, because the children and workers both deserve better.

An excellent nursery with great facilities and a caring team. They made our daughter (and us) feel comfortable from day one and always keep us updated. The regular parent evenings are really helpful, and we’ve seen such a positive impact on our daughter’s growth. She absolutely loves going here!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review Our daughter, N, started at Purple Willows in September, when she was just 10 months old, and we couldn’t be happier with the care and attention she’s received. From the very beginning, the staff have been so welcoming, patient, and genuinely caring — it’s clear they truly love what they do. Everyone who works in the baby room deserves a special mention. It really feels like everyone at Purple Willows knows her personally — even staff who don’t care for her directly always greet her with such warmth and enthusiasm, which says so much about the kind of environment they’ve created. Since joining, we’ve noticed such lovely changes in N — she’s become more social, more confident, and is starting to try out new words. She’s interacting so much more with other children and adults, which is amazing to see at her age. It’s clear she feels secure, supported, and encouraged to explore the world around her. She also absolutely loves the food and mealtimes! The variety in the menu has really impressed us — it’s healthy, balanced, and full of flavour. It’s even made mealtimes at home easier, as she’s now much more willing to try new foods and eat a wider variety of meals. The nursery itself has fantastic facilities, including a wonderful sensory room and a range of age-appropriate activities that keep the children engaged and learning through play. Every day offers something new for them to discover, and it’s great knowing she’s in an environment that nurtures her development in such a fun and thoughtful way. A special thank-you also goes to Sola, the manager, who has been so helpful from day one. She took the time to understand our situation and kindly arranged a discount to help with the cost of early drop-offs, which we have no choice but to do daily. That level of understanding and flexibility really shows how much Purple Willows cares about its families. As a parent, leaving your baby for the first time is never easy, but Purple Willows has made that transition feel completely natural. The environment is warm, nurturing, and full of opportunities for the children to grow. We’re so grateful for everything the team does — thank you for giving N such a positive, happy start to her nursery journey!

My son has attended this nursery for about two years now. I am glad we choose this nursery despite the fact that the fees are a bit on the high side. The staff are friendly and are always willing to offer advice on how to support my son further at home. We also get regular updates on his day. You can tell the manager supports her staff and is experienced. I think she worked in a school before. Within a year of his attendance, my son’s speech has improved significantly and his interaction with the other children has improved considerably too. I don’t look forward to collecting him in the evenings sometimes because, most of the time he never wants to go home! It is like a second home to him. They offer many activities and extra curricular too which my son enjoys. The playground is well equipped. The meals are cooked at the nursery and they have varieties and put into consideration the children’s diet needs and the allergies they have. I would highly recommend this nursery to parents even though it is not the cheapest in the area. We will miss Purple Willow as my son is leaving soon to start Primary school in September.
