She had her settling in sessions which are so helpful to get them use to nursery ( they helped our daughter loads ) she then started yesterday & really loves it. Staff are really friendly and tell you lots of things and what they have been doing, really put my mind at ease. I brought my other daughter here also, and she came on leaps & bounds! Definitely recommend this nursery. Thank you for everything you do. X",

"reviewBody": "If you value your child’s well-being, we urge you to think twice before considering Robins Nest Nursery.\n\nOur son experienced repeated neglect while in their care—and we have clear evidence to support this. On more than one occasion, he was sent home with a nappy full of faeces, leaking down his legs and back. This is especially troubling because he is fully potty trained and communicates clearly when he needs the toilet. Despite this, staff failed to respond to his needs or clean him, leaving him in that state for hours. His daily report contained no record of any toilet use, which is deeply concerning.\n\nWe raised this issue formally, on multiple occasions. The first time, we were appalled. The nursery issued an apology and refunded a month’s fees. Against our better judgment, we gave them another chance, hoping they would take appropriate steps. They didn’t. The incident happened again—and alarmingly, the same staff member was involved, someone we had already expressed concern about.\n\nOur son came home in pain, crying that his bottom hurt, and was clearly distressed. As parents, it was devastating. This was more than a failure of hygiene—it was a complete breakdown in safeguarding, supervision, and empathy.\n\nWhen we submitted a second formal complaint, referencing EYFS statutory safeguarding requirements, Robins Nest’s response was shocking: rather than taking responsibility or showing concern, they terminated our child’s place with no notice. No meeting. No explanation. Just a brief, impersonal email stating they had “fulfilled their duties” and were informing Ofsted.\n\nThey weren’t protecting our son—they were protecting themselves.\n\nWe are now escalating this to Ofsted, the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO), and are exploring legal avenues. No parent should have to endure this. Our child was subjected to physical discomfort, emotional trauma, and a gross lack of professional care.\n\nThis wasn’t an isolated error—it’s part of a concerning pattern of neglect, dismissed by a management team more focused on their image than on the children in their care.\n\nTo fellow parents: trust your instincts. Don’t allow your child to suffer what ours did.",

My daughter has additional needs and they have gone above and beyond to support her and meet with me regularly to discuss her goals and progress. They have assisted with referring her to relevant services and guiding me through these steps. My daughter loves going and I feel so comfortable knowing she is cared for so well - she comes home covered in dirt, paint or glitter and I know she has had a great day!",

He loved every second of being there. staff was always friendly and wonderful with the children and willing to go the extra mile ! He was excited everyday to go in and do lots of interesting activities! The most special thing about Robin’s Nest , and the thing that made me choose them was the Curiosity Approach that they implement. You won’t see any plastic toys but instead a lot of normal household objects and instruments that everyone has in their own houses, ready to be used in activities for the children . I find this approach to be very educational for the children making them feel more like “at home” while being at nursery ❤️",

## About this day nursery

Robins Nest Nursery, a family-owned establishment in Walsall, West Midlands, provides a nurturing and loving environment for children to thrive before transitioning to school. The nursery boasts a spacious building with extensive outdoor play areas and is conveniently situated near a park, field, major transport routes, and new housing developments.

A dedicated team of experienced nursery nurses implements a key worker system to deliver high-quality day care, tailoring activities to each child's developmental stage across physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and creative domains. The nursery prioritises the unique needs of every child, offering comprehensive support to children and their families.

Their objectives include fostering creativity, promoting excitement for learning, and providing a secure environment that encourages self-discovery, exploration, and curiosity. They adhere to Ofsted standards, strive for continuous improvement, and maintain strong relationships with parents.

The nursery places emphasis on good manners, healthy habits, positive behaviour, and nutritious eating, with a varied four-week menu prepared by a 5-star rated onsite cook, including vegetarian and gluten-free options on request. Learning and development are guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, covering communication, physical development, personal, social, and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.

The nursery employs both pre-planned and spontaneous "in the moment" learning to ensure children engage in fun and exciting activities that address all areas of learning. Robins Nest is a single-level converted building featuring four core rooms, child-sized toilets, cots, and changing facilities for infants.

Safety is paramount, with a comprehensive approach including secure entry systems, high walls, and a barrier. All staff undergo stringent vetting, including enhanced DBS checks, and the nursery always has a trained first aider on duty.

Our ethos

Robins Nest Nursery's pedagogy is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, incorporating both pre-planned and spontaneous "in the moment" learning. They aim to foster creativity, encourage a love for learning, and create a secure environment that nurtures self-discovery, exploration, and curiosity. The nursery also emphasises good manners, healthy habits, and positive behaviour.

What it's like

Children are eager to play and learn at this friendly and welcoming nursery. Staff work hard to ensure children are emotionally secure from the start. Parents join their child for gradual settling-in sessions to help children adjust to the new environment. Children choose their own key person who continues to support their transition into nursery. Staff gather information from parents to help them to understand children's needs from the outset. Children form close bonds with staff. They readily approach them for cuddles, support and reassurance when needed.

My daughter has recently started here at Robins Nest, the staff are amazing! X

If you value your child’s well-being, we urge you to think twice before considering Robins Nest Nursery. Our son experienced repeated neglect while in their care—and we have clear evidence to support this. On more than one occasion, he was sent home with a nappy full of faeces, leaking down his legs and back. This is especially troubling because he is fully potty trained and communicates clearly when he needs the toilet. Despite this, staff failed to respond to his needs or clean him, leaving him in that state for hours. His daily report contained no record of any toilet use, which is deeply concerning. We raised this issue formally, on multiple occasions. The first time, we were appalled. The nursery issued an apology and refunded a month’s fees. Against our better judgment, we gave them another chance, hoping they would take appropriate steps. They didn’t. The incident happened again—and alarmingly, the same staff member was involved, someone we had already expressed concern about. Our son came home in pain, crying that his bottom hurt, and was clearly distressed. As parents, it was devastating. This was more than a failure of hygiene—it was a complete breakdown in safeguarding, supervision, and empathy. When we submitted a second formal complaint, referencing EYFS statutory safeguarding requirements, Robins Nest’s response was shocking: rather than taking responsibility or showing concern, they terminated our child’s place with no notice. No meeting. No explanation. Just a brief, impersonal email stating they had “fulfilled their duties” and were informing Ofsted. They weren’t protecting our son—they were protecting themselves. We are now escalating this to Ofsted, the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO), and are exploring legal avenues. No parent should have to endure this. Our child was subjected to physical discomfort, emotional trauma, and a gross lack of professional care. This wasn’t an isolated error—it’s part of a concerning pattern of neglect, dismissed by a management team more focused on their image than on the children in their care. To fellow parents: trust your instincts. Don’t allow your child to suffer what ours did.

Robins Nest are a brilliant nursery, the staff are so lovely and nothing it too much trouble to accommodate. My daughter has additional needs and they have gone above and beyond to support her and meet with me regularly to discuss her goals and progress. They have assisted with referring her to relevant services and guiding me through these steps. My daughter loves going and I feel so comfortable knowing she is cared for so well - she comes home covered in dirt, paint or glitter and I know she has had a great day!

I had my son in this nursery for 2 happy years! I find this approach to be very educational for the children making them feel more like “at home” while being at nursery ❤️

\*\*If you care about your child’s well-being, do NOT send them to Robins Nest Nursery.\*\* Our son was repeatedly neglected here—and we have the evidence to prove it. He was sent home on more than one occasion with his \*\*nappy completely full of faeces\*\*, leaking down his legs and back. He is \*\*fully potty trained\*\* and clearly communicates when he needs the toilet, yet the staff failed to change or clean him, leaving him in that condition for hours. His \*\*daily report had no toilet entry at all\*\*, which is both shocking and completely unacceptable. We raised this issue \*\*formally\*\*—not once, but multiple times. The first time, we were horrified. The nursery “apologised” and refunded a month’s fees. We gave them another chance because we hoped they’d take it seriously. They didn’t. It happened \*\*again\*\*. And not only that, but \*\*the same staff member\*\* was involved—someone we had already flagged as a concern. Our son came home in pain, crying that his \*\*bum was hurting\*\*, and visibly distressed. We were heartbroken. The nursery didn’t just fail in basic hygiene—they failed in \*\*safeguarding, supervision, and compassion\*\*. When we made a second formal complaint, citing the \*\*EYFS statutory safeguarding laws\*\*, Robins Nest did something disgraceful: instead of taking responsibility or showing any concern for our child, they \*\*terminated his place without notice\*\*. No conversation. No accountability. Just a cold, cowardly email saying they’d “fulfilled their duties” and were informing Ofsted. They were not protecting our son—they were protecting themselves. We are now escalating this matter to \*\*Ofsted, the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)\*\*, and pursuing legal action. No parent should ever go through what we went through. This nursery put our child through \*\*physical discomfort, emotional distress\*\*, and showed a shocking lack of responsibility. This is not a one-off mistake. This is a \*\*pattern of negligence\*\*—covered up by a management team more concerned about reputation than children's welfare. If you're a parent reading this: trust your instincts. \*\*Don't let your child be treated like ours was.\*\*
