The founder, Lady Jayne Ackers, a former secondary school teacher in Child Development and Home Economics and a college tutor for Nursery Nurses, created Seesaws to offer a more personal and nurturing alternative to existing childcare options, inspired by her experiences adopting her children. The nursery prides itself on fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, acting as a 'second-family' for both children and staff. Their approach is guided by key values; they are open-minded, listening to diverse ideas and experiences; attuned, being highly reactive to the behaviours and emotions of children, staff, and families; collaborative, emphasising teamwork and mutual support; and tenacious, demonstrating determination and perseverance.
