Founded and managed by Lydia and Paul Browning, the nurseries are deeply rooted in their family's experience, even naming one after their daughter, Lola-Belle. Lydia, the area manager, has a background as a nursery nurse and holds a BA Hons degree in Early Years, actively overseeing the operations. Paul manages the business aspects as well as maintenance. The group has grown steadily, opening Lola-Belle's in 2009, followed by Smarty Pants @ Lightwoods House and Smarty Pants @ Lye in 2017, and most recently Smarty Pants @ Pattingham in 2024. The nurseries pride themselves on fostering imagination and confidence in children within a stimulating and secure setting. They are also notable for being awarded 'Millie's Mark', signifying that all staff are trained in paediatric first aid, a commitment they have upheld since 2007. Children with SEND are supported extremely well and parents feel empowered by the support they receive from the setting. Staff spoke to the inspector about how they support children with SEND. Outdoor space Funding is used to provide experiences for children that they would not normally have. For example, they visit the local park for weekly nature lessons.
