In April 2008, the pre-school relocated to a purpose-built classroom on the school grounds of Abbas & Templecombe Primary School. This new facility features child-height wash basins, low surface breakfast bars for interactive snack preparation and cookery activities, and low-level windows to allow children to observe the outside world. This design creates a warm, safe, and fun 'home from home' atmosphere, encouraging children to 'play2learn'. The co-location with the primary school fosters strong links, ensuring a smooth transition for children into school life. Pre-schoolers gradually become familiar with their reception class teacher and the new learning environment through induction sessions held in the summer term, preparing them for their entry into school in September. They learn how woodlice like to live in damp, dark places and can be found hiding under stones and logs.
