Our ethos Here at Sunshine we want to develop little people with personality, imagination and a sense of adventure. We know children are naturally inquisitive, and we follow 'The Curiosity Approach' ethos to promote curiosity, awe and wonder in Early years. It creates beautiful and aesthetically pleasing play spaces for children using loose parts and open ended resources. This approach teaches children how to think not what to think. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which is the government standards for the learning development and care for children aged 0-5. We recognise the importance of good manners and respect and seek to provide a strong foundation in these to prepare our children for life outside nursery. What it's like Children arrive at the nursery happy and smiling, eager to play and are motivated and interested in learning. They demonstrate feelings of safety and security when they wake up as staff beam at them. Children have curious minds, for instance, they discover a nest in the nature area and staff support them to look online to find out which bird made this nest. Staff then extend this curiosity by providing activities to make nests.
