Inclusion & environment ## How they support every child SEND provision Not all staff implement strategies to meet the individual learning needs of children, in particular when they need additional support, which means at times some children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), may not make the progress of which they are capable. Leaders and staff are not always clear on how the curriculum can be adapted for children with SEND to meet their learning needs. Staff complete assessments and make appropriate referrals and funding arrangements for children with SEND, but not enough is in place to reduce gaps in children's learning in the meantime. Communication strategies, such as signing, are not used consistently, and not all staff make effective use of identified strategies to fully engage children in routines and learning.
