The inspector found that staff have a strong understanding of children's needs, and provide targeted support for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Children learning English as an additional language are supported with keywords from their home languages and Makaton signs. Ofsted reported that children arrive happily, settle quickly, and form strong relationships with staff. They engage in a range of activities, developing practical skills and making steady progress in communication. The inspector also noted that leaders had not consistently followed safer recruitment procedures and that staff sometimes failed to support children in understanding behavioural expectations. Ofsted required the provider to improve its recruitment practices to ensure an open and positive culture around safeguarding.
