Originally a small privately owned playgroup, it has evolved into a thriving community pre-school with over 64 places. The pre-school operates from St. Gabriel Church Hall, where it has been situated since 1979. Nicky Blunt has managed the pre-school since January 2011, leading a team of experienced staff. Toad Hall Pre-School is dedicated to providing excellent care for children under five, with a primary focus on their social and emotional development. The pre-school has a strong record of OFSTED ratings, having previously achieved "OUTSTANDING" for three consecutive inspections and currently holding a "GOOD" rating with "OUTSTANDING" for Behaviour & Attitudes from its April 2022 inspection. The pre-school encourages parental involvement, viewing parents as partners in their child’s development and welcoming contributions to the committee or participation in Stay & Play sessions. Toad Hall Pre-School also maintains strong connections with Hyde Park Infant School to ensure a smooth transition for children moving on to primary education.
