The nursery operates year-round from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a happy and relaxed atmosphere for all children. Recognised for its excellence, Townsend Barn Nursery received an 'OUTSTANDING' grade from Ofsted in April 2023, replicating its previous 'OUTSTANDING' rating from August 2017. The nursery is set within a 150-year-old converted dairy farm and capitalises on its rural environment by integrating extensive outdoor play in its woodland garden alongside indoor activities. This approach encourages children to develop a strong connection with nature and build confidence. Healthy, home-cooked meals are provided daily. The nursery features dedicated rooms for different age groups: Hedgehogs (non-mobile), Caterpillars (mobile to 2 years), Butterflies (2-3 years), and Barn Owls (3-4 years), as well as a Sleep Room and a Sensory Room. All staff are first aid trained, and the nursery has experienced SENCO staff. Our ethos Townsend Barn Nursery capitalises on its rural environment by integrating extensive outdoor play in its woodland garden alongside indoor activities.
