How they support every child

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are given a very good start and make very good progress. Designated staff use a range of techniques to promote children's communication and language skills exceptionally well and inclusion and equality are of great importance.

Outdoor space

Children benefit from lots of time outdoors, including regular access to the nursery outdoor area and off-site forest-school trips. They practise physical and problem-solving skills (for example using a water pump, riding tricycles, dipping nets in a pond and building dens).

Very nice and clean atmosphere. You can use the sand area and sensory room 10-4 , Monday to Friday. Lots of sand toys and water, clean toilet. My daughter loved it.

I virtually stumbled across these gardens by accident, whilst visiting Burgess Park. Beautiful gardens, flowers, buildings, many quiet areas to sit undisturbed and enjoy the 'peace and tranquility ' An absolute MUST! 💗

Our son has been attending 1st Place at Chumleigh Gardens since he was 10 months old and we couldn’t be happier with the care he has received over the past three years. The staff are fantastic—kind, nurturing, and dedicated. He has built strong relationships with his carers, many of whom have been there throughout his time at the nursery, providing a wonderful sense of continuity. One of the things we love most is the emphasis on outdoor play and exploration. He thrives on being outside every day and especially enjoys the trips to forest school. The nursery also fosters a great sense of community, and he has made lots of friends along the way. The focus on child development is excellent, ensuring he is well-prepared for the next stage of learning. We are incredibly grateful for the care and support he has received and would highly recommend the nursery to other parents.

These chumleigh gardens are a piece of haven hidden in Burgess Park. Beautiful flowers in a quiet corner of this Park. If you are there, do not hesitate to have a look.

We have been really happy with the nursery for our son who has attended since 11 months. The staff are kind, and professional. The children have access to lots of activities and a excellent garden as well as being taken out on local trips. Communication has been good, we are always informed about what is going on, invited to events and can speak to staff about any concerns.
