SEND provision

Staff provide individualised plans to ensure that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive tailored support, and leaders and staff work effectively with external professionals to help children achieve their full potential.

Outdoor space

Children of all ages access the garden to support physical development; older children take part in football, climbing, balancing and running games, while babies also use the outdoor area but have less physically engaging and purposeful experiences compared to older children. Leaders and staff plan local outings to places such as forest school, the library and the farm to enrich children's learning and develop their physical skills.

My daughter attends Abacus Nursery and is thriving there! She loves going and has developed so much since starting 6 months ago. I am very grateful to her key worker Jaimee-Leigh and also Vanda. It is a very hard transition to send your baby to nursery but it didn’t take long for me to be totally at ease. They are so caring and their communication is excellent. The nursery is very well run by Lisandra. I highly recommend this nursery!

Sending my child to Abacus Nursery School on Palace Road was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My child is genuinely happy and excited to go to nursery every day, which says everything. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and take the time to warmly greet both children and parents every morning. They are always happy to answer questions and provide thoughtful updates about my child’s day. The communication is fantastic. Parents are kept informed with photos and daily schedules, which is so reassuring. The care and dedication shown by the key workers and the entire team truly go above and beyond. A huge shout out to the amazing staff at Abacus Nursery. You are absolute superheroes!

We couldn’t be happier with Palace Road Abacus. The staff are amazing and it’s clear that they care deeply about each and every child. My 3 year old trundles in every day in the morning without looking back and always has lots of fun things to report on when he comes home. What with yoga, mediation, Spanish lessons, tennis, skooter lessons, craft activities, outdoor play, and trips out, the children definitely are getting a great range of experiences. The management are extremely responsive whenever you have any queries, always getting back to you even if out or hours. I have recommended abacus to other friends with young children and will continue to do so :)

All the staff regardless of what room they are in seem to know her name and key workers will always give you time to talk through their day when you collect them.
