ABC Childcare (Ipswich) Ltd provides early years care and education for children aged 2-5 years within its preschool, alongside a "FreeTime" club for primary-aged children (Reception to the end of Year 6) offering breakfast, after-school, and holiday sessions. Established initially as St Andrews Playschool, the nursery moved to its current location in 1982 and became a limited company with registered charity status in 2005.
The management is overseen by a voluntary committee, which also handles administrative and fundraising aspects. In 2007, modern purpose-built premises were completed through joint funding.
The nursery is committed to giving every child the best opportunities to learn, explore, and build confidence in a bright, safe, friendly, and encouraging environment. They focus on independent play and supported learning to help children reach their full potential.

What it's like
Children are warmly greeted by attentive staff who create an inclusive environment and support independence; they form strong friendships and develop good relationships with staff. The outdoor area is used to promote physical activity and curiosity about nature, and the high staff-to-child ratio helps children to share, take turns and behave well.
