The nursery provides a warm, welcoming, and engaging environment where children aged 0 to 4 feel safe and secure, fostering positive relationships with staff.

Children enjoy their time at the setting, engaging purposefully in their learning, and demonstrating increasing confidence and motivation. The well-thought-out curriculum encourages curiosity, exploration of their environment, and a positive attitude to learning.

Staff plan a broad range of activities that build on children's existing knowledge and skills, with a focus on extending their development. Children make steady progress, particularly in communication and language, building vocabulary and confidence through singing, listening, and responsive engagement.

They develop independence, curiosity, and self-esteem, preparing them for their next stages, including school readiness. The nursery accommodates a total of 66 children and is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00.

Our ethos

Here at Acorn to Oak Nursery, we invite children and their families to become part of a setting that cares about the ‘whole, unique child’. We support children in becoming confident, happy learners but also to be respectful of others, to be able to express themselves and their feelings in appropriate and kind ways and to celebrate differences. We want children to feel heard, understood and respected, as this supports their emotional wellbeing and helps them to feel secure. In our Nursery and Pre-School, we seek to nurture each child’s individual strengths and aim to help all of our children to fulfil their true potential – academically, socially and emotionally. We are an inclusive and welcoming setting who support children’s development from wherever their starting point may be. This is achieved by having a staff team who are caring, experienced, and professional and are dedicated to providing quality care and education to the children in our Nursery and Pre-School ‘family’.
