Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

The provision for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is exemplary. Staff are skilled at identifying children's specific needs early. They work with the local authority, advisory teachers, and parents to implement strategies to support children's needs. For example, staff support children to learn how to communicate using Makaton alongside visual aids. Leaders carefully consider staffing to ensure that the right support is provided to help children to reach their individual next steps in learning. This helps all children to make excellent progress.

Outdoor space

The inspector observed the quality of education being provided indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact on children's learning. Children take part in regular dough discos, and participate in flower arranging to strengthen their arm and hand muscles. They have visits from specialist sports coaches each week, and regularly attend forest-school and movement and music sessions. This helps children to develop their balance and hand-eye coordination, and make excellent progress in their physical development.

Alphablocks is a wonderful nursery. The staff are incredibly caring and make a really warm and safe environment for our daughter. She talks constantly about the key workers and the friends she has made there. We love that the children are able to get outside a lot throughout the day and we love they provide forest school sessions. The activities always seem well thought through and enriching. We would highly recommend the nursery and are very happy with our daughter there.

I couldn't be happier with the nursery my daughter attends at Alphablocks! The team, led by Jaimie, Rabia, Tahnee and rest of the staffs are absolutely amazing. They're warm, caring, and dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for the children. The nursery education structure is amazing with lots of activities, and subjects for the little ones. It is clear that the team are passionate about giving the children the best possible start in life. Most importantly, my daughter is thriving and loves going to nursery every day. Thank you to the whole team for making her early years so special!

Alphablocks Nursery at the Hadley Wood Association centre has been outstanding for our little girl. From day one, the staff have been warm, welcoming, and incredibly caring. You can genuinely see how much they care about the children and their development — the environment feels nurturing, safe, and full of positive energy. The activities are fantastic and thoughtfully planned, and has helped our little girl grow in confidence, creativity, and social skills. Communication with parents is excellent too; Jaimie and Rabia (the nursery teachers who are great!) always update us on our little girls day and how she is progressing. They also dedicate time to do more formal, end of term progress meetings which are great and very comprehensive. Our little girls is genuinely excited to go in every morning, which says it all! We couldn’t be happier with Alphablocks — it’s a wonderful nursery and we feel very lucky to have found it. Highly recommend to any parent in the Hadley Wood area.

Our daughter started at AlphaBlocks when they opened the second location at the Hadley Association and we couldn't be happier with her experience and ours! Our daughter has gained so such confidence since starting nursery. Her explorers teachers Jaimie, Rabia and Vicky are kind, encouraging and fun, they are professionals who care truly for the children, they have been patient and encouraging for our daughter, we really feel as though they care and know her well. This support and encouragement can also be felt from the deputy and head teacher Tahnee and Daisy. There is a fantastic range of sessions offered including forest school, music, Spanish and drama. The nursery is also incredibly creative at arranging daily teacher led activities based on the book of the week which is thoughtfully tailored to the children's interests and development. They spend alot of time outside in the nursery's outdoor play area as well as frequently taking the children out to the park, the train station or for a walk in the woods. As parents we get regular feedback about the group and individual updates about our daughter throughout the week. Jaimie is also incredibly responsive to messages throughout the day. 5 stars in every aspect, would highly recommend Alphablocks to everyone!

Alphablock is a nursery that I have been taking my child to for over a year. I am very satisfied with the care that the teachers have for the children there, their progress, and their development as well. All the teachers are very good, well-prepared, but I would especially like to single out Jaimie, with whom my son is very attached and feels very good. I highly recommend this nursery. Thank you very much to the teachers for the hard work they do with our children.🙏
