Alverbridge Nursery, an outstanding day nursery established over two decades ago as a pre-school, transitioned into a full-time nursery and registered charity in 2009. Now situated at 80 South Street in Gosport, it serves approximately 110 children aged 0 to 4 from the PO12 catchment area.
The nursery prides itself on its consecutive "Outstanding" OFSTED ratings since 2006, reflecting its commitment to high-quality care and education. The nursery aims to enhance children's development and education, operating 51 weeks a year with flexible hours from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
It focuses on providing a family-centred environment, working closely with parents to support each child's individual learning journey. The nursery also contributes to local education by accepting college students on childcare and health-related courses.
With a dedicated team of 25 staff comprising various levels of qualified practitioners, the nursery continuously invests in professional development and training to maintain its high standards. They support vulnerable children and families and implement the Early Years Curriculum, observing and adapting to children's developmental needs.
Although currently full, the nursery is a vital part of the community, having supported over 1,600 Gosport families since its inception.

Inspector highlights
Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
Parents explain how their children are making excellent progress in all areas and how they feel fully informed in what their children are learning and their next steps.
Parents value the time staff take to share information and provide support on how they can extend their children's learning at home.
Inclusion & environment
The entire staff team works tirelessly to ensure that all children are given the same opportunity and no child is left behind in their learning, including those children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff use their superb knowledge of every child, along with excellent partnerships with parents, to support children to achieve their full potential. For example, staff are aware of local community needs, and where relevant, they have developed supportive groups for children and their families to feel part of and access advice when needed.
This nursery is absolutely amazing, my 3 year old granddaughter can't wait every day to go. She loves the wonderful team barely even gives me a wave good bye. It is no wonder they received outstanding from Ofsted. The team has supported my family so much through some difficult times going above and beyond what anyone would expect. I really cannot thank them enough and will be eternally grateful. A very very big thank you! 😄😄🙏🙏🙏

Read on GoogleI can give this nursery the highest of praises. They were wonderful with my daughter and have been just the same with my son. Today is his last day before he goes to big scho and I know he will miss the people here so very much. He has Autism and everyone here has helped him in such a fantastic way. Without the people here he would not have progressed the way he has. If anyone in the Gosport area is trying to find a nursery then this is by far and away the best. Thank you everyone here for everything you have done from myself and most importantly from Rourke.
