About this day nursery

Ash Green Community Primary School is dedicated to fostering a learning environment where children and adults can realise their full potential, emphasising that every child deserves the best educational opportunities. The school provides comprehensive support services for its pupils, families, and the wider community, including early morning and evening childcare facilities, an on-site Children's Centre/Family Hub, and nationally recognised Family Support Services.

They also offer fortnightly support for housing and finance issues in collaboration with Holy Nativity Church, which hosts a Community Drop-In and Pantry. The school maintains a stimulating curriculum designed to challenge and support every child, underpinned by a set of agreed 'Core values' that children strive to uphold and for which they earn rewards.

Ash Green was recently rated 'Good' by Ofsted in October 2024, demonstrating consistent improvement across all areas. The school actively encourages parental engagement, inviting them to arrange visits or provide feedback through Ofsted's 'Parent View' website.

They have also seen significant progress in pupil attainment, particularly for Year 6 leavers and in early years, Year 1 phonics, and KS1 outcomes. A notable achievement for the school and the Mixenden community is the recently completed rebuild of their Upper Site, with further enhancements like a new library and Hub planned for 2025.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Highly skilled leaders and staff have superior aspirations for all families and an in-depth understanding of their unique needs. Staff diligently monitor children's progress, achievement gaps and areas of developmental delay. This leads to swift referrals, intense early support interventions, including speech and language programmes, and first-rate partnership working. Staff actively encourage families to access early education funding and promptly secure other early intervention and inclusion funding. This has a significant impact on the outcomes for all children, who are superbly included, including children with complex needs.

Outdoor space

Staff provide excellent outdoor opportunities in response to the needs of families. For example, children engage in enriching activities as part of the developing forest school initiative, which actively involves parents. Children create water rapids, weave materials through the fence, explore nature and re-enact stories.
