About this day nursery

Brambles Childcare, established in July 2018 through the merger of Brambles Playgroup and Fun Club, offers comprehensive care for children aged 2 to 11 years. Situated on the grounds of St Helens Primary School, the nursery benefits from access to the school hall, playground, and Forest School area.

As a registered charity and a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance, Brambles Childcare adheres to National Standards and undergoes regular Ofsted inspections, enabling them to receive Nursery Education Funding. A volunteer committee of trustees oversees the nursery's operations, supporting staff in their daily responsibilities.

The curriculum is designed to encourage learning through play and first-hand experiences, covering areas such as personal, social, emotional, physical development, communication, language, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design. The nursery provides education and care for children from two years old, offering "Funded 2s" and up to 30 hours of free childcare for eligible families.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are very well supported. Staff work as a team to make sure that children who need more support receive so in abundance. They develop partnerships with parents and other professionals such as specialist teaching services to create personalised plans for each child, which helps them close gaps in their learning.

Outdoor space

Staff provide children with opportunities to exercise and develop their physical skills during outdoor play. When it starts to rain, the staff encourage children to dance and twirl around in the garden, helping them develop vocabulary as they describe the rain.
