About this day nursery

Bright Horizons operates approximately 300 nurseries and preschools across the UK, offering childcare solutions to families. The organisation focuses on providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive, emphasising both learning and emotional well-being through its 'Nurture Approach'.

This approach ensures children feel secure and supported by dedicated practitioners, fostering their development in a fun and engaging atmosphere. The curriculum, known as 'Bright Beginnings', covers five key learning areas, integrating practical and life skills into daily activities.

Prospective parents can explore various resources including information on food and mealtimes, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provisions, typical nursery daily routines, and outdoor adventure opportunities like Forest School. Bright Horizons also offers comprehensive support for families regarding childcare funding options and provides settling-in sessions designed to help children and parents comfortably transition into the nursery environment.

These non-chargeable sessions, offered up to six weeks before the start date, are tailored to individual needs, building trust between the child, parents, and their key person.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff make accurate assessments of children's development and these assessments help to identify when children may benefit from additional support. Leaders and staff act swiftly and sensitively to ensure that children receive any support they need with their learning in partnership with other agencies. All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress from their starting points.

Outdoor space

Staff calmly model how to throw balls safely outside. Older children check the garden is safe and free from hazards before the younger children go outside.

Both my children attended this nursery from 10 months to school age full time. I had a fantastic experience over the nearly 9 years that my children attended. The staff are highly professional and are lead by a brilliant management team, and wonderful experienced room leaders. My children were very happy, excited to go every day, and there was never a day when I didn’t have complete confidence and reassurance that they were being left with the most wonderful, caring and experienced childcare professionals. The nursery activity encourages parent input with ongoing conversations about your child’s development, and as a first time parent with my daughter, I felt fully supported to navigate the key milestones. The children participate in exciting varied activities every day which are educational and support development. Both my children were confident, happy and more than ready for school when the time came. The catering provision is also outstanding, with the children being provided with freshly made, healthy hot meals and snacks throughout the day made by the wonderful nursery chef who is very much loved by the children.

Our little girl loves Bright Horizons and so do we! She's been at Bright Horizons since she was 10 months old. She's now 2. The staff are lovely, she's treated really well, and always comes home with a smile on her face. Great activities for the kids, and a good menu too so they get lots of variety at mealtimes. The app also allows us to see what she's been up too throughout the day which is a big plus. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nursery locally.

We moved our son from a different nursery to this one, and if we knew how amazing it was we would have moved him sooner! Previously our boy was very nervous and shy, yet he’s really came out of his shell here! The staff are truly passionate about our boys childhood, he is not just looked after but nurtured and encouraged to grow. Each day he tells us he likes nursery, and we get thorough updates on both verbal handovers and photos and observations in the app. We are a vegetarian family, and the food that Katie the chef makes is nutritious and clearly tasty as my son always eats plenty of it! Each room is clean and full of wonderful resources which all are good condition. The best bit about this place is the wonderful staff who get to know your child on a personal level and have made my boy feel so comfortable and loved here - a huge shout out to Alice, Abi, Amy, Becky, Katie and all of the wonderful team.
