Bright Smiles Day Nursery in Wirral provides care and education for children from birth to four years old. The day nursery operates from Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 6pm, all year round, except for bank holidays. At its inspection in July 2024, Ofsted rated the provision as Good. The inspector reported that children are welcomed by friendly staff and form secure relationships, which helps them feel safe and content. A broad curriculum builds on what children already know and uses their interests to promote curiosity.

Children play outside daily, where they use equipment such as balance beams to support their physical development. Staff also organise activities like treasure hunts in the garden. To help children learn about the wider community, the nursery arranges visits to a local residential home, library, beach, and park. According to Ofsted, staff work collaboratively with parents and other professionals to support all children, sharing updates on development and ideas for learning at home.

Our ethos

Bright Smiles Day Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework in its programmes for all age groups, from babies to children up to 5 years old. The nursery aims to foster independence and build upon individual interests within the EYFS guidelines, promoting social skills, early learning, and continuous learning and enjoyment through child-interest-led activities. They also emphasise a strong partnership with parents, ensuring open communication and high standards of care and education.

What it's like

Children are welcomed by warm and friendly staff and quickly settle. Staff develop close relationships, making children feel safe and content. Leaders and staff provide a broad and ambitious curriculum that builds on children's previous knowledge and promotes curiosity.
