About this day nursery

Brook Green Early Years, located in Taunton, offers childcare for children aged 0-4 years old. 45am to 6pm, closing only for one week at Christmas.

Children are encouraged to settle quickly in the inviting environment, confidently moving around the premises and choosing whether to learn indoors or outdoors. The latest Ofsted inspection, on 8th September 2022, rated the overall effectiveness of the provision as Good.

Children make good progress, developing a love of books and showing awe and wonder at new experiences. The inspector observed how children grow in confidence and become independent learners, for example, toddlers playing with small-world toys and older children engaging in role-play.

Parents have noted the rapid development in their children, particularly their language skills, since starting at Brook Green Early Years. The manager is highly reflective, supporting staff development, and promoting strong bonds between children and staff, which contributes to consistently good behaviour.

Children also develop good practices for health and hygiene. The nursery successfully implements a planning system that enables children to deepen their learning, with staff knowing children well and planning activities based on their interests and developmental stages.

Communication with parents is a strength, with important information shared face-to-face and through technology, and open days are organised for parents to experience the nursery firsthand.
