BusyBodies Private Day Nursery, registered with Ofsted in 2024 in York, provides a nurturing childcare setting for children aged 0-3 years. Open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00, the day nursery operates on an all-year basis, focusing on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

The dedicated staff team prioritises communication and language development through daily songs, stories, and purposeful experiences, ensuring children make secure progress from their starting points. The nursery embraces a culture of inclusion, where leaders identify and support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) by collaborating with external professionals like dietitians and occupational therapists.

This ensures tailored support and effective interventions, with regular training for staff to confidently address emerging needs. Children also benefit from regular physical activity, including weekly forest school walks, fostering coordination and confidence indoors and out.

The nursery proactively supports children learning English as an additional language (EAL) through consistent use of key words, visual prompts, and targeted communication strategies, promoting understanding and participation. A secure key-person system ensures children feel safe, valued, and well-cared for, helping them settle quickly and approach their day with confidence.

Our ethos

Busy Bodies Montessori Nursery in York blends the Montessori methodology with the EYFS curriculum to foster independence, confidence, and self-motivation. Their approach uses hands-on, play-based experiences and Montessori materials to encourage exploration, investigation, and critical thinking, empowering children to become self-directed learners.

Pricing & funding

Fees are charged termly across three terms, with rates based on attendance of three or five days per week. A non-refundable deposit is required upon registration, which is later deducted from the third term's fees. A payment plan is also available upon request.
