Butterflies Pre-School Westgate Limited, established in 2015, operates as a childcare setting on non-domestic premises in Westgate On Sea, Kent. 30pm, the setting provides care all year round for children aged between 2 and 4 years.
The pre-school received a 'Good' rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 11th May 2023. Children at Butterflies Pre-School feel secure and quickly settle into their routine, eagerly participating in learning activities.
The curriculum is carefully planned by staff who know their key children well, ensuring activities are stimulating and align with children's interests, leading to good progress across all areas of learning. Staff maintain high expectations for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), collaborating with outside agencies to provide personalised interventions and ensuring steady progress.
Children develop increasing independence in self-care routines, such as confident self-serving of snacks, reflecting effective practices that prepare them for their next stage of learning. Behaviour is consistently good, with children demonstrating positive attitudes to learning and play, sharing and taking turns.
They also learn to manage risks during activities, for example, on the large play equipment in the garden. The manager is actively developing a new garden to offer more opportunities for children to explore the natural world and spend extended periods outdoors, enhancing their overall experiences.

My son started here at the age of two, he was unsure at first, but the staff were great and he shortly started going in without looking back. He absolutely loves nursery! I have so many positive things i could say from how lovely and supportive the staff are, to how well they have helped my son learn and grow. But most of all I just want to say thank you to the whole team at Butterflies for making our experience so incredible. I would one hundred percent recommend this nursery!
Read on GoogleWorking with Butterflies Preschool was such a fantastic experience for our recent Christmas Mini Sessions! The staff’s friendly and organised approach made the photoshoot seamless and enjoyable for everyone involved. The children were such a delight to photograph, and it was wonderful to capture their unique personalities. Parents and carers have shared lovely feedback, expressing how much they appreciate and cherish these keepsakes. It’s always so rewarding to see how much these photos mean to families. Butterflies Preschool’s warm and nurturing environment shines through, and I’m thrilled to have been part of creating lasting memories for their community. Looking forward to working together again in the future!
