Inclusion & environment
The nursery special educational needs coordinator is knowledgeable. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and children who speak English as an additional language receive appropriate support. Staff interact positively with children and adapt their teaching to meet their needs, including using flashcards and finding words in children's home language.
Children have some daily opportunities to be outdoors in the fresh air and develop their physical skills. However, staff do not consistently ensure children, who particularly learn better outdoors, have opportunities to choose when they play outdoors.
Children who speak English as an additional language receive appropriate support. Staff find out words in children's home language and use flashcards, so that children know what is happening now and next, and can make choices independently.
Such a safe place to leave my baby. The best part is I get to see what’s happening with and around her all through the day through their real time application. Also, I can pop in a question or request and the response is swift. Love it!
Read on GoogleIf they struggle with your child and can't meet their needs be prepared for them to give up on your child and kick them out , this is not a SEND nursery , don't children with special needs also deserve a chance in life to learn, to play , to have fun ? Now we have been left quite literally "your on your own " absolutely shocking ( oh and our child kept coming home with bite marks on a number of occasions) they will also cut hours but still get the full funding for your child , so disappointed , now we have a fight on our hands for our child to be accepted for the gorgeous baby they are , let down by the system is an understatement !!!!
Read on GoogleAbsolutely brilliant nursery. I have been lucky enough to have chosen child 1st day nursery as my sons first nursery. He is thriving as well as learning and playing with other children. I have seen a real increase in my son’s development since he started and I know I can leave him there and he is well taken care of and happy. The staff are amazing and friendly and the chefs provide the best food. Both me and my son love it here!
Read on GoogleAll staff at Child 1st have been really good in helping our 3 year old to adapt to the pre-school environment ahead of him starting the School Nursery in September. From the settling in sessions to the communication on the app and in person we can’t fault it. Our son has enjoyed messy play and outdoor play and interacting with other children. This has also helped to further his development. We will be recommending Child 1st Stoke.
Read on GoogleEven 2 years after my son left I still think of the lovely staff here. They helped me through a very dark time in me and my sons life and I couldn't have made it without their support. They are just brilliant! My son loved going here, they helped him thrive and flourish. Thank you so much xx
