Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

The special educational needs and/or disability coordinator has a good overview of how children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are developing. Through assessment and good communication, she identifies children who may require additional support, and referrals to services are completed timely to ensure support from other agencies is swiftly implemented.

Outdoor space

Babies are encouraged to stretch and reach for toys to build core muscles. Pre-school children take part in forest school sessions where they balance on logs, build dens, and climb on different structures, allowing them to manage risk and solve problems. However, toddlers' physical skills are not as well considered when playing outside, as they access trikes too big for them.

My experience at Children's House has been very positive. I had moved my daughter from another nursery and was extremely nervous about her settling in as I know she does not do well with change. The staff and management picked up on this and I had a chat with them all to make a plan. This made me feel as though myself and my daughter were top priority and I really appreciated that. They allowed my daughter to have plenty of settling in sessions and ensured her Key worker was present. Due to this my daughter has a beautiful relationship with her key worker and is very comfortable at nursery, I am able to drop her in the morning with no tears and she throws herself into her key workers arms. I get updates through their app with wonderful photos and descriptions of what they are doing, this is very reassuring and lovely to receive throughout the day. I also got a card with a picture of my daughter on her first day which I love. I feel like children really are at the heart of what they do.

Both of my children have gone here, I absolutely love the people and the setting. The girls are all super friendly and always greet me smiling and excited to see my little ones. The food is brilliant for the children and I love the different outdoor areas for the different ages. They also update their app all day so I get to see lots of photos and what they’re up to. Wouldn’t ever take my children anywhere else. I travel from Rainworth each day

Our daughter has been going to Children's House for a couple of months now and is really enjoying her time there. The staff are all very friendly and professional - they create a welcoming, fun and caring environment, with an impressive range of activities and crafts for the children to enjoy and learn from. The food is great too, varied and healthy - we know our little one is always well fed!

Children’s house is absolutely wonderful! My 11 month old goes here and has done since he was 7 months old, he has come on loads and is really the happiest little boy ever! The staff are incredible and work so hard in providing a home away from home, even if my little one refuses to nap 😂 they do so many activities which are catered to each child and do lots for the babies development. They are always so kind and loving towards my boy and myself and make sure it’s not just the babies that are well but also assure us parents are okay as well! They’re so welcoming and I couldn’t be happier that we chose this nursery! Thank you again xxx
