The nursery received a 'Good' rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 7th November 2023. The manager and staff maintain high expectations for children and plan a comprehensive curriculum that supports all aspects of their learning, helping them to develop confidence and self-assurance.

Staff work to foster strong friendships and emotional self-regulation by discussing emotions, resolving minor disputes, and modelling respectful behaviours. Children with identified special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) benefit from precise strategies implemented by staff, with the special educational needs coordinator collaborating closely with staff, parents, and other professionals to support individual plans and ensure good progress.

The setting also prioritises communication and language development. Children engage in physical play, developing coordination on balancing equipment, and have opportunities to strengthen fine motor skills.

The nursery is currently focusing on enhancing its outdoor provision for children under two years old to further support their outdoor learning experiences. They provide children with experiences to broaden their sense of belonging in the local community, such as visits to a local care home and litter-picking activities.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children who have identified needs benefit from the precise strategies which staff put in place. The special educational needs coordinator works closely with staff, parents and other professionals to implement children's individual plans. As a result, children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are consistently supported and make good progress.

Outdoor space

Children are physically active in their play, confidently developing coordination on balancing equipment. Staff are currently prioritising developing the outdoor area for children aged under two years to support their outdoor learning experiences even further.

Our 1 year old loves going to nursery. The staff are really caring and look after him as an individual. I feel they know him well and communicate well with us as parents. He has lots of fun and is really developing his communication through lots of sensory activities. I don't know how they manage to plan and carry out so many amazing activities but it's clear they are doing a great job.

We're so happy with this nursery, our son is really happy playing, eating alsorts and learning his letters, numbers, road safety and all the seasonal fun. They have a really sensible attitude to accidents and illness that makes you feel like you're leaving your kid with trustworthy grown ups who know what they're doing, and they've stayed open in such challenging conditions. Our heroes!
