What it's like to attend

Children thoroughly enjoy their time at this incredibly nurturing and welcoming nursery. They develop warm and trusting relationships with staff, who know them exceedingly well. They benefit hugely from stimulating and engaging opportunities, developing excellent communication and language skills. All children are very well prepared for their next stage of learning, demonstrating independence, persistence, and resilience in their play.

Inspector highlights

  • All children, including those who speak English as an additional language, make significant progress in their learning, particularly in their communication and language skills.
  • Children are extremely well prepared for their next stage of learning. They are confident in talking and asking for help, demonstrating independence skills appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Leaders are highly reflective and recognise the importance of well-embedded routines which allow children to thrive, resulting in a calm and nurturing environment.
  • Staff work closely with parents and carers to ensure that they understand the need for regular attendance. Leaders have a flexible and understanding approach towards meeting the needs of families.
  • The nursery has been accredited with an award for supporting and caring for children's oral health, which is of a high level.
  • Staff are highly effective at supporting children's skills and developing their vocabulary. They recognise how to support children who speak English as an additional language, and adapt their practice to fully meet their needs.
  • Staff identify children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) or other barriers to learning or wellbeing swiftly when they start at the nursery.
  • Leaders include all staff in a survey to work on improving the setting and their own practice. The nursery has recently received a quality accreditation for having healthy children and a healthy workforce.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Lovely nursery and amazing staff, who are always friendly and easy to talk to, always there to support the child and parents. My son is so happy to come to nursery and I always think that's down to the staff and how much fun he has here. My little boy has SEN needs and the nursery have been amazing with supporting him and helping in his progress, he has gone from a child who barely spoke and found it hard to communicate, to a little boy who is confident and who is now able to communicate majority of his needs (we still have a way to go but I have no doubt with the help of the nursery for another year that he will only progress further) Couldn't ask for a better nursery.

My granddaughter has been here 2 months now , she's very active ,lots energy ,we wanted her to mix with others learn how to be kind and share ,we was worried as she can be full on , 8 weeks in and she. Has changed so much , sharing using kind hands ,playing with others ,being kind , she's so happy here never wants to leave , she's counting and sings alot , staff are great and have helped her and my daughter , they really took on board are worries and concerns, I'm really happy we found her a great place to grow and learn thank you to all , and to kelly for listening and helping , all staff are a credit thank you

We joined Diamond Nursery as it opened and have seen all the amazing changes happening to it , My Daughter is off to reception she’s had so many lovely moments, not one day did she ever look like she didn’t enjoy her day there , all the staff are amazing , can’t fault them , A really amazing team ,,thank you for looking after , teaching and caring for Layla .
