How they support every child

SEND provision

There is extensive support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Staff know children extremely well; their deep understanding of children's individual needs enables them to provide early targeted support. Staff adapt their interactions to ensure that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities have the right level of questioning and communication to meet their needs.

Outdoor space

Children move the equipment and resources around the room and into the garden as their interest develops and evolves. Children visit the local park and make good use of the large outdoor space.

Ducklings is a lovely preschool, our son has attended for over 18 months now and we've been consistently happy with the care. The staff are friendly, approachable and happy to help with anything that might be going on for the little ones at home too. We have a 6 month old and I know they spoke to our son about how he felt about the baby when I was pregnant and once he arrived. I’ve been to a few stay and play sessions too and you can clearly see that the staff have strong bonds with the children and that’s something that was really important for us when finding somewhere for our son (he has even invited Tasha to come to our house before haha). They have a different theme each week and focus on play which I think is perfect for their age and has allowed our son making some lovely friendships too. Would recommend and plan to send our youngest here when he is old enough ☺️

Such a lovely preschool! A small, friendly setting and our little one is always so happy there. The staff are all amazing, very friendly, approachable and caring. He’s always happy to attend and happy when he comes home! He was very clingy and upset at a previous setting on drop offs, so we are so glad we made the swap. Highly recommend.

I only have positive things to say so let me jump right in. My child is happy, and LOVES going to school. She has grown so much in the time that she has been there. The teachers, especially Wendy are so incredibly accommodating! I also love the communication platform that they use. They keep us up to date with everything going on and every day when I fetch my child I get an update of her day. The staff are friendly and fun and helpful and just all round incredible! Times have been tough and knowing that your child is not only in a safe learning environment but is loved and looked after is just incredible! Thank you to each and everyone at Ducklings Shenley Brook End!

Fantastic nursery, always met my daughters needs. She always enjoys her time there. My daughter has come out of her shell since being a duckling. The staff are absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend anyone that is looking for a nursery to go to Ducklings Shenley. Thanks for your hard work guys!

Ducklings school is the most incredible pre-school. Our daughter leaves excited for school and is excited and happy when we fetch her. I am blown away by how much she has developed in the last few months and that all comes down to the incredible teachers there. I cannot recommend this school enough. There is nothing more comforting than knowing that your kids are safe, happy and loved at school! Thank you for everything team!
