About this day nursery

EarlyBirds Day Nursery Woodville is in Barnstaple, Devon. It operates from 7am to 6pm on weekdays throughout the year and offers government-funded places for eligible children. In November 2024, Ofsted inspected the day nursery and judged its overall effectiveness to be Good.

The inspector reported that the curriculum is varied and targeted to children’s individual needs. Staff work closely with parents and other professionals, effectively teaching children about cooperative play and kindness. The provision includes separate indoor and outdoor areas for babies, allowing older children to take part in play that offers a higher level of challenge. To improve practice, the inspector recommended that the nursery provides children with clearer guidance about healthy food and drink choices and engages parents more effectively in supporting their child's dietary health.
