The nursery received a 'Good' rating from Ofsted in its latest inspection on 25th January 2024. The manager and staff implement a well-planned curriculum that focuses on children's prime areas of development, positively impacting their confidence.
Staff are attentive observers, monitoring children's development and planning effectively for their next stages. Children are encouraged to become confident communicators, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) or those who speak English as an additional language.
The Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) is currently undertaking advanced training and effectively ensures that all children, particularly those requiring additional support, can access the curriculum and make strong progress. Children at Fair Start Nursery exhibit good behaviour and feel secure in the setting, benefiting from staff who act as positive role models, helping them manage emotions and nurturing their imaginative play.
Parents have noted the nursery's collaborative approach to potty training and improvements in their children's speech development. Children have daily opportunities for outdoor learning, enabling them to develop their physical and large-muscle skills through activities such as climbing, balancing, and jumping, while also learning about managing risks outdoors.
The nursery also aims to provide children with a good awareness of their own community and the wider world, fostering respect for differences.

Inclusion & environment
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, become confident communicators. She knows which children need additional support and ensures they receive it, making the curriculum accessible for all children.
Staff ensure children have good opportunities to develop their physical skills. Children have daily opportunities to be outside and develop their large-muscle skills as they climb, balance and jump. They become increasingly aware of managing risks outdoors.
