Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff liaise with external agencies to address any gaps in children's progress, and use additional funding responsibly.

Outdoor space

Children benefit from additional experiences, such as music and movement sessions and trips to the local shops to buy ingredients for cookery activities. For example, toddlers hunt for bugs in the garden and then create a spider activity indoors to build on this interest and to learn more about the creatures. Older children enjoy energetic team games and making obstacle courses in the garden. Babies climb and roll on soft-play blocks and join in action songs. Toddlers ride wheeled toys and play ball games.

My son has been at first steps for over 2 years now and he absolutely loves it. All of the staff are very experienced in childcare, extremely friendly and most of them have worked at the setting for many many years. The nursery itself is very spacious unlike many others locally and my son loves playing in the large garden too. They arrange such a variety of activities for the children to do and regularly update parents on what they are up to that day/week which is lovely. I highly recommend first steps and will be gutted the day my son has to leave.

Our daughter has been going to First Steps for over 2 years and has loved it since the day she has joined. She always enjoys the various activities and she is now in the pre school room where they are preparing her for the transition to school.

I had a child at First Steps a few years ago and I now deal with them through my business. Wow what a fantastic nursery, amazing facilities but even more importantly the staff are just wonderful, you know your children are in the very best and safest hands.
