About this day nursery

First Timers Pre School Day Nursery, established in 2015, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years. 30am until 6pm, the nursery (rated Good by Ofsted on 23/09/2022) focuses on creating a safe and secure environment where children form positive relationships with both peers and adults.

The curriculum is designed to challenge children's learning and strongly supports communication and language development. Children are encouraged to love books and stories, with activities tailored to different age groups, from following stories with toy animals in the baby room to imaginative play for pre-schoolers.

The staff also promote independence, starting with simple tasks like getting tissues in the baby room and progressing to self-serving at mealtimes for older children. Physical development is supported through outdoor play, where staff assist children in navigating wooden beams to improve balance and coordination, while also allowing others to manage independently.

The nursery also introduces children to technology and fosters an understanding of safety, including internet safety for pre-schoolers and moving safely within the nursery. The manager regularly reflects on and improves practices, such as introducing engaging activities after mealtimes, ensuring continuous learning and engagement for all children.
