About this day nursery

Fizzy Fish operates three distinct childcare settings across Hove and Portslade Village, offering flexible provisions for children from birth to five years old. Karen Fothergill, the owner, is deeply committed to the professional growth of her staff, ensuring they not only complete mandatory training but also pursue further education in areas they are passionate about.

This dedication to staff development aims to enhance the quality of care and support children's readiness for pre-school and, ultimately, school. The day nursery provides varied session options, including year-round and term-time only care, accommodating both funded and non-funded places.

They differentiate their offerings with a dedicated nursery setting for infants and toddlers (0-2 years) and pre-schools for older children (2-4 years). The service is supported and monitored by Brighton and Hove City Council’s City Early Years Childcare department.

Fizzy Fish emphasises a comprehensive approach to early years education, covering aspects from a specific curriculum to healthy eating habits, oral hygiene, and physical activity, all within the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
