Glen Jakes Nursery is a family-operated childcare facility providing a warm, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere for children. Situated in a tranquil rural area of Stockport, the nursery offers a unique setting with plenty of fresh air, minimal traffic, and scenic views, allowing children to explore and learn in nature.

The nursery received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted report in March 2022. The dedicated staff, many qualified to Level 3 or above, including some with Level 6 degrees, are committed to creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.

Children are cared for in age-appropriate rooms and are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities, both adult-led and child-initiated, to foster their development. The nursery emphasises outdoor play, with activities like nature trails, picnics in woodlands, and visits to horses.

Pricing & funding

Fees from April 2025 are structured around weekly, full-day, school-day, and half-day sessions. Additional hours are charged at an hourly rate, with penalty fees applying for unauthorised attendance. Parents must provide their own nappies and spare clothing, and no refunds are offered for absences.

This is a fabulous nursery, my grandson who is disabled really enjoyed his time there, and he really came on well, the meals are amazing, and the staff are really lovely and very caring, would highly recommend this place, it’s a shame they don’t do for over 5 years .
