Inclusion & environment
Any children who may need some extra help are identified swiftly and appropriate levels of support are put in place. As a result, all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) make good progress in all areas of learning. The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with SEND.
Children settle swiftly and immediately start to play and explore exciting and beautifully presented indoor and outdoor environments. Children have the opportunity to hop on the outdoor wooden train. They develop their speaking and listening skills when asked for directions to the seaside. Children continue their role play in the outdoor water tray, where they test interesting ideas and use props to bring their own sea creatures to life. The inspector and the manager completed a tour of the setting both indoors and outdoors to understand how the early years provision and curriculum are organised. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.
My two children both attended Goldcrest from the age of one, and I can honestly say it is an incredible Nursery, they both thrived here and were well looked after by the kind and friendly staff. The staff really do care about the children and they do so much to help them blossom and grow and prepare them for moving onto school when the time comes. It's is lovely, when you get to the door you are always greeted by a smiling friendly member of staff, and it is such a comfort to know that the children are provided with a variety of healthy foods throughout the day. The activities and seasonal events they put on for the children are wonderful. It is without hesitation that I highly recommend this Nursery.
