About this day nursery

Grendon & Billesley Nursery & Family Centre, established in 2004 through the Neighbour Nursery Initiative, operates as a non-profit community organisation steered by a voluntary management board comprising local residents and parents. The group expanded to include a pre-school at Hollywood Primary School in 2007 and gained Children's Centre status in 2009, enabling it to provide services to families in the Billesley ward.

In 2016, GBNFC at The Chinnbrook Centre was opened, offering high-quality, affordable care and education for children aged 2-5 years. The core ethos of the GBNFC Group is to deliver exceptional, cost-effective childcare and education to the local community, simultaneously supporting parents in their return to work or education.

Furthermore, the centre aims to assist families requiring additional help through its family support services. Since 2017, under the Birmingham Forward Steps (BFS) programme, the Children's Centre has extended its reach to cover the entire Selly Oak District, serving up to 9,000 children.

The dedicated team, based at The Chinnbrook Centre, offers a diverse range of services, including parenting groups, play and stay sessions, family support, health services, volunteering opportunities, and education and training guidance across the Selly Oak area.

What it's like to attend

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. They are knowledgeable about the children's individual needs and understand that these children may need more intense support to begin to learn to manage their own feelings and behaviour. The special educational needs coordinator takes swift action to provide intervention at the earliest opportunity, and funding is used to support the children's development.

Outdoor space

Children of all ages and stages of development relish the opportunities available to them to play in the well-resourced and exciting outdoor areas. They make their own decisions about who and what they want to play with and frequently choose to move between playing indoors and outdoors throughout the day.

Our son had an amazing time at this nursery. They are the most lovely group and we felt very confident with the care he had. It was helpful hearing what he’s eaten, enjoyed so we could try new things at home. Very well priced Big thankyou to your talented team.

Brilliant nursery, my boys have been going for 3 years now. Staff are really friendly and happy to engage. Kids always go in excited and come out exhausted. There are always lots of activities going on with twice a week updates on each rooms activities. Loads of opportunity for children to play outside as each room has its own area. Plus it is really cheap compared to other nurseries and has been deemed Outstanding by Ofsted I don't have a bad word to say.

My daughter has been in the baby room for the past 6 months. The girls in the room do a great job in providing a home from home experience for my little girl. She is really fond of her key person and gets excited to go to nursery in the mornings which puts my mind at ease. I would really recommend this nursery to others.

The manage are very Rude , can't believe hows she is in this position.when I tried to speak to her,but the sound liked she want to argue me .very bad service. would not recommend
