Hadleigh Parkside Pre-school is a nurturing childcare facility dedicated to providing exceptional care and education for children aged 18 months to 4 years. The pre-school operates 50 weeks a year, from 8 am to 6 pm daily, Monday to Friday.
Their approach is centred on child-led play, where children's innate curiosity guides their learning journey. They emphasise experiential learning, encouraging children to explore their world and develop confidence, individuality, and resilience.
The pre-school aims to create a stimulating and enriching environment, preparing children to be enthusiastic learners as they transition to school. They collaborate closely with parents, valuing their partnership in each child's development.
Furthermore, Hadleigh Parkside Pre-school is committed to the well-being of its children, parents, and staff, with a dedicated well-being lead and mindfulness activities integrated into the daily routine. They also promote healthy lifestyles through nutrition and exercise.
The pre-school actively contributes to the local community's well-being and is dedicated to offering a service that respects diversity and promotes equality.
Our ethos
We believe that children learn best through their play. Education starts with the needs and interests of the child, allowing them to plan their course of study and it relies heavily on experimental learning. Promoting curiosity about the world and being truly in the moment with their environment allows children to notice the small details. This way at looking at things gives children a love of learning and gives the tools to flourish and be their best selves. Like John Dewey, an educational theorist, stated we believe: "Education is not about preparing a child for life, education is life itself"

Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are provided with highly attentive support to meet their complex needs. They access specialist equipment and resources which are very carefully planned to capture their interest and strengthen their concentration. Staff work closely with other professionals and make sure parents are aware of outside support services. They take account of all available expertise and advice when planning additional support for children with SEND.
Children particularly enjoy being outdoors. They delight in exploring the different textures and aromas of the chickpeas, tea leaves and herbs they mix in the outdoor kitchen. Children also develop their knowledge of living things and the natural world, such as watching a tiny frog swim and learning how it developed from frog spawn.
