Inspector highlights

  • The curriculum includes several initiatives which expand on children's experiences, such as "talking toddlers" and "sing and sign" programmes for very young children, and the Eco-School programme for older children.
  • Staff are excellent role models, speaking clearly and giving children time to think and absorb new words or instructions, which helps them learn to do things for themselves and build independence skills.
  • Children learn to explore their feelings through activities like visiting "emotion stations", practising yoga, or spending time in the sensory room, with staff responding sensitively and valuing children's efforts and interests.
  • Children benefit from regular connections with their local diverse community, visiting a care home, learning road safety, and having visits from the police, with these experiences linked into the curriculum.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic leaders and managers provide exceptional support to staff, fostering an embedded culture of improvement and team well-being that promotes highly effective practice.

We needed to leave this nursery due to a safeguarding incident between a staff member and our two year old. It was a frightening time and while the manager apologised they also tried to smooth it over as though it was insignificant. The issue happened due to staff turnover and high stress in the staff. Our child is now in an excellent nursery where she is treated with respect and care and we couldn't be happier.

Our child has been very happy here, from the age of 1 to graduating later this year. Management are friendly and helpful, with strong leadership through difficult covid times. The nursery staff throughout the rooms always seem happy and really engaged with all the children, many have been there for years which is always a good sign. Good, all weather, secure outdoor space, large airy rooms with good zoning. Can't fault them.
