Inclusion & environment
Staff have an incredible knowledge of the children and their individual needs, which is enhanced by a highly effective key-person system. Partnership with parents is key, and through effective communication for those children who need extra support, all their learning and care needs are met promptly and effectively. The playgroup supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Children benefit from effective free flow between indoor and outdoor learning areas. The outdoor area has been developed to include a sensory garden with fruit trees and bushes, where children can explore, pick fruit, and learn about insects.
A fantastic, vibrant and very welcoming environment for pre-school children. I am a secondary school teacher and forest school practitioner and I love what Highburton Playgroup do and how they do it. If you’re looking for a safe and nurturing community - as we were - definitely consider Highburton Playgroup, you’re child will thank you. We looked at lots of options but fundamentally we didn’t want “childcare” - a mechanical system that just ensures the child is fed, watered and not in danger - we wanted a space that would help our child flourish, provide guidance as he develops confidence away from parents and becomes a social being. So pleased with our decision. We’re 1 year into our journey and I can’t give enough praise to the staff for their hard work and dedication - they are absolutely incredible and have made parents and children alike feel safe and secure for many years. Yes - I am promoting this playgroup! No - I’m not on commission 😂
